Many patients expect eyelid surgery to produce an immediate final result. However, the first week after surgery is still part of the recovery process.
This patient underwent upper blepharoplasty combined with ptosis correction to improve eyelid opening while maintaining a natural appearance.
Although swelling is still present seven days after surgery, the eyelids already demonstrate a more balanced opening. At this stage, the goal is not to judge the final appearance but to confirm that healing is progressing normally and that eyelid function has improved.
As swelling gradually subsides over the following weeks and months, the eyelids continue to soften, the crease becomes more natural, and the eyes settle into their long-term position.
Early improvement is encouraging, but successful eyelid surgery should always be evaluated over time rather than during the first few days of recovery.
